Medical AI Data is 
biased.

The data we use to create important Medical Artificial Intelligence tools is biased.

 

•  71% of Medical AI tools relied on patient data from California, Massachusetts, or New York. 34 states were not represented at all.

• Current algorithms are "less likely to refer black people than white people who were equally sick to programmes that aim to improve care for patients with complex medical needs."
